About Dr. Scott Overholser
Dr. Scott Overholser – How Invisalign works
Dr. Scott Overholser is very skilled at using Invisalign to move and correct malaligned teeth. The process is fairly simple, but patient compliance is absolutely required to ensure success. Once patients’ have approved their personal clincheck, or “clinical check” of the final results, the aligners are made and milled by computer at the company’s factory.
The number of trays determined for each patient depends on the extent of treatment and how much the teeth need to be moved. Each tray is fabricated out of a hard, thin and clear plastic material. They are worn for approximately two weeks. Initially, at first insertion, the trays are tight, but as the teeth move to better fit the tray, the trays loosen, thus making necessary the next tray in the sequence. Because the trays are so thin and clear, they can be worn without other people knowing. This is important, because as Dr. Scott Overholser strongly states to patients, they must be worn approximately 23 hours a day…essentially removing them only to eat or brush the teeth.
