Scott Overholser DDS: The Psychic Rewards of Volunteer Work

February 3rd, 2010

Scott Overholser DDS is one of those people who have thriving careers and yet find the time and reason to give back to society by doing volunteer work.

Right after graduating from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, Scott Overholser DDS launched his own private practice. He developed skills that enabled him to diversify along the way, making it possible for him to branch out into other fields such as management consultancy and real estate consultancy. Possessing proven expertise in organizational management, performance management, and corporate marketing — capabilities that he acquired by owning and managing his own dental practice, the dentist-cum-management-and-real-estate-consultant is your proverbial “Renaissance Man.”

Doing volunteer work for a Chicago-based non-profit organization called Vital Bridges draws as much enthusiasm from Scott Overholser DDS as does helping his many daily patients through their dental phobias.  Aiming to provide assistance to HIV/AIDS-afflicted people in its five program sites in Chicago, Vital Bridges is primarily concerned with the delivery of high quality basic services to its clients and making it possible for them to live fruitful and fulfilling lives. It does so by the provision of the following services: case management, counseling, prevention services and education.

For Scott Overholser DDS, the psychic rewards of his volunteer job at Vital Bridges are immeasurable. A sense of accomplishment borne out of the knowledge that he is making a difference in people’s lives gives him ample motivation to dedicate his time and energy to this worthy endeavor.
